Plans learning, observes and works closely with families for their key group.

Nursery team Senior Key Teacher Room lead and mentor

Leads the room, models practice and mentors others while still holding key children.

Nursery team Third in Charge / H&S Lead Daily operations and safety

Supports Manager and Deputy, steps up when needed and leads daily health and safety checks and records.

Nursery leadership Deputy Manager (Curriculum Lead) Second in command

Steps in for the Manager and makes sure pedagogy, observations and environments are consistently high.

Main focuses

  • Coach key teachers and room teams.
  • Oversee observations and assessments.
  • Support parent engagement.
Nursery leadership Nursery Manager Site leadership and compliance

Owns one nursery’s performance: occupancy, staffing, curriculum, parent care and Ofsted.

Main focuses

  • Deliver site KPIs and budget.
  • Lead and supervise staff and parent partnership.
  • Keep the setting Ofsted and safeguarding ready.
Central support Recruitment Manager Keep nurseries fully staffed

Runs end-to-end hiring (including sponsorship) so settings have the right people, on time.

Central support Finance Manager Day-to-day finance operations

Keeps reporting, month end and cashflow tight and gives sites and operations the numbers to act on.

Central support Comms and Marketing Manager Brand, campaigns, content

Runs campaigns and content to drive enquiries, support recruitment and keep messaging on brand.

Central support Sales Manager Enquiry to enrolment

Owns the admissions and sales funnel so every nursery hits occupancy and conversions improve over time.

Main focuses

  • Standardised follow-up and tour experience.
  • CRM usage and pipeline reporting.
  • Coach managers on confident selling.
Central support Head of People Talent, culture, HR for growth

Builds the people systems to support growth: recruitment, onboarding, learning, sponsorship and culture.

Main focuses

  • Workforce planning for new or acquired sites.
  • Recruitment funnel and employer brand.
  • Leadership development and retention.
Central support Regional / Operations Manager Multi-site quality and performance

Links COO and nursery teams — coaches managers, checks compliance and makes sure every site hits KPIs.

Main focuses

  • Monthly reviews with each nursery.
  • Occupancy, staffing and Ofsted readiness across the region.
  • Grow and develop future managers.
Leadership Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Financial strategy and reporting

Leads the finance strategy — budgeting, cash, reporting — and partners CEO and COO so sites can deliver targets.

Main focuses

  • Financial planning, dashboards and controls.
  • Budgeting with operations and holding sites to P&L.
  • Support for acquisitions and investor reporting.
Leadership Chief Operating Officer (COO) Group-wide operational delivery

Turns the CEO’s strategy into day-to-day performance across all nurseries — occupancy, compliance, people and profitability.

Main focuses

  • Set and monitor KPIs and operating rhythms.
  • Lead regional and nursery managers and central ops.
  • Support growth (new sites, acquisitions, integration).
Leadership Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Strategy, growth, investor and culture

Sets vision, growth and culture for the whole group and holds ultimate P&L while reporting to the board and investors.

Main focuses

  • Define and deliver long-term strategy and expansion.
  • Hold COO, CFO and senior team to KPIs.
  • Lead investor and board relations and brand positioning.
  • Embed Abacus Ark values across the organisation.
